Beyond Muscle

Ready to Transform Your Strength Beyond the Physical?

Stop clinging to the past like it's your lifeline—clear new paths. Open your eyes, and see the change! It's happening, whether you're ready or not.(ATD)

What up Fellas,

In my journey, I've been the 'fit guy'. always showing off my physical strength, a badge of honor from my military days. I used to have a saying I would get all my clients and anybody I’d train within the gym.

“Walk around with your shirt off.”

That’s a level of confidence few understand.

Now valuing intellect and strategy as much as brawn. This shift wasn't about changing habits but redefining my identity.

I learned that real strength isn't confined to physical prowess. It's about the resilience of the mind and the courage to embrace change.

This transformation has been a lesson in letting go. A version of me that no longer serves my present or future.

But this story It's about all of us and the universal journey of growth we're on. You too might have an 'old self' that you cling to, out of comfort, fear, or habit.

Letting go isn't easy, but it's necessary for growth. As we unload, reflect on your own life.

What past identities or beliefs are holding you back?

How can you redefine strength and success on your terms?

Transformation is not a loss of who you were; it's an evolution into who you're meant to become.

The Power of Changing Routines

Reflecting on life, I've seen time not as a resource, but as the most valuable asset.

This realization hit me hard one day. I found myself overwhelmed by tasks, yet achieving little. It was then that I decided to take a 'bird's eye view' of my life.

Categorizing my daily activities, and identifying what mattered. This led me to cut down on unnecessary tasks and focus on what was important.

Reshaping my rises to planning and reflection, rather than jumping straight into work. Small changes make a huge difference in productivity and mental clarity.

Now, think about your routine. Are there activities or habits that consume more of your time than they deserve?

Try taking a 'bird's eye view' of your daily life.

What's one change you could make in your routine that might have a significant impact?

It's not about doing more; it's about doing what's right for you.

Time, once spent, is gone forever.

Use it in a way that brings you closer to your true self.

Not getting my schedule ironed out was a reason I was never in the moment with my family. Always worried about the next thing.

Embracing the 'Villain' Within

In a previous letter.  I drew a parallel between personal transformation and Thanos.  A villain known for his radical decisions and focus.  This comparison is metaphorical. I have to make tough decisions like turning down opportunities to earn

4 and 5 figures on a deal just to be at home. Money will come but the time with my family I can't get back.

The essence is embracing focused and unconventional thinking. Not condoning his actions.  Like Thanos, sometimes we need to make tough decisions. They may not be popular or easy to understand, in pursuit of a greater goal.

It's about breaking free from the status quo and daring to think.

Embracing the 'villainous' side for personal growth. Doesn't mean isolating or neglecting our relationships.

Enhancing the process of transforming by cultivating healthy relationships and being part of a supportive community. Solitude can be a powerful tool for self-reflection and development. The balance of meaningful connections enhances our growth.  Finding the right mix of introspection and interaction.

So, as you ponder the steps to transform and grow, ask yourself:

  1. How can I maintain this balance?

  2. How do I make tough decisions and embrace unconventional thinking?

  3. How do I nurture relationships that matter to me?

Transformation is not a solitary journey.  It's a path we walk, often hand in hand with others, toward a better version of ourselves.

The 10:45 Challenge

The 10:45 challenge is a progression and focus program to help you elevate and 10 X your life in 45 days. The challenge is going live on February 5th but here is the breakdown and you can start now and get a leg up or create your own.

You will reflect every day and write out what you are most grateful for.

You will also recite it back to yourself every rising.

Physically you will become stronger by starting with one exercise a day for the next 6 weeks.

By the end of the challenge, you will be performing 10 sets of 10 of each exercise.

In the first week, you will perform 4 sets of 10 and progress each week until you reach your peak.

  1. Body weight squats

  2. Pushups

  3. Lunges

  4. Pull-ups / Russian pull-ups or Superman rows

  5. Calf raise

  6. Sit up or leg tucks

  7. Dips

Repeat

Inspired by my will to push myself and to get my kids active. After a period of fasting, you will mentally be prepared for this physical challenge.

Making you stronger mentally and physically.

The fast cleansed me and stripped away everything that wasn't serving me.

I always enjoy a good clean purge before I embark on a new journey for a revolution in my life. It will take dedication, discipline, and consistency all of which takes time, and without sacrifice, there can be no change.

Deal with your distractions or you’ll never get to your goals

Resetting with Fasting

Fasting, for me, has been more than a physical discipline; it's a mental and spiritual reset. Removing the constant decision-making around food.

I find myself more focused, and able to discern what's important in my life.

The act of abstaining, even, helps filter out the noise and clutter that distract us daily.

During one of my fasting periods, I reflected on  2 Kings 6:1-7, which speaks to the power of faith and focus—serving as an example of how fasting can be a time of deeper reflection and clarity.

Consider incorporating fasting into your routine.

 Approach with clear intention.

Know your 'why' and understand the purpose behind your fast. It's not physical health; it's about gaining mental clarity and resetting your priorities.

Here are some practical tips if you decide to fast:

  • Start with a clear plan and duration for your fast.

  • Keep hydrated with water, herbal teas, or black coffee if caffeine isn't an issue for you.

  • Avoid media consumption during your fasting period to enhance mental clarity.

  • Listen to your body and be mindful of how you're feeling throughout the fast.

Fasting is a personal journey.

Finding what works for you, resetting body and mind. Paving the way for focused and meaningful action in your life.
